Several others should receive honorable mention. Q Nightclub, Monkey loft, the Suite Lounge and the SL’s in the Bellevue Hyatt were on several lists. See Sound Lounge is popular for its cheap drinks and great sound system. Aston Manor seems to be intriguing if nothing else with hidden entrances, secret password and burlesque dancers, though most may be there for the ambience. The Cuff made the list for similar reasons. The Ballroom in Freemont, Noc Noc, Lo-Fi and Acquabar seemed to be a popular point of connection, too – seemed to be favorites for glitzy and style. If dives are your scene, check out a couple holes in the wall (Alki Tavern, Al’s Tavern, Ballard Smoke Shop or Bit Saloon).
Be sure to check out which area each is located. It might mean the difference between sophistication and elegance, artsy crowds (were just anything may go), and collegiate barf fests. Of course, one also has to take the source into account; sites geared toward tourism may not necessarily have flirtation in mind. From a ratings standpoint, even my grandma rates restaurants on yelp. Of course, if the sound system is so loud and the dance floor so crowded, keep in mind how much time will be spend leaning over and screaming out one liners and small talk. There is no shortage of music venues featuring up-and-coming groups that always seem to burst from within Seattle’s inner artistic circles. But, if you’re looking for a little something less culturally inspired, get ready to take on the world one hottie at a time.
